Womble Bond Dickinson Raleigh and Research Triangle Park Offices Managing Partner Beth Tyner Jones was recently recognized by LeadingAge North Carolina with its 2022 Excellence in Governance Award. LeadingAge recognized Jones’ service over nearly 25 years to Baptist Retirement Homes of North Carolina (BRH), a faith-based non-profit organization with senior living communities in Albemarle, Asheville, Concord, and Winston-Salem. Since 1998 Beth has served as its trustee including numerous terms as Chair of the BRH Board of Trustees. She has been involved in chairing numerous committees including chairing the search committee for a new CEO following the retirement of BRH’s CEO who had led the organization for 35 years.
Beth was a founding member of the board of the BRH Foundation and continued to serve on its board for 21 consecutive years. The foundation provides support to seniors in BRH communities including funding care residents cannot other afford. The Foundation has grown to an endowment exceeding $45 million.
Jones explained that “As a young attorney, the Homes provided me with an early opportunity of service in a mission-driven organization. Throughout the years, I learned so much from the dedicated board members and employees who collaborated to provide senior living communities in a respectful, caring and quality environment.”
The 2022 Excellence in Governance Award was presented May 11 in conjunction with LeadingAge North Carolina’s 2022 Annual Conference at the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C.
