Curtis specialises in real estate disputes and advises clients on all aspects of commercial property litigation including disputes regarding easements, restrictive covenants, dilapidations, lease renewals and break notices.
Curtis has particular focus on landlord and tenant matters (such as lease terminations and renewals, dilapidations, lease covenants, recovery of arrears and rent reviews).
Curtis is a member of the Property Litigation Association.
At WBD, he is a member of the Responsible Business Committee and WBD Pride network, and is a mental health first aider.
Experience
Examples of experience include:
- Acting for landlords and tenants in relation to lease termination and renewal, including advising on Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 issues
- Assisting landlords with portfolio management on forfeiture of commercial premises
- Acting for a major infrastructure provider on a claim in nuisance and trespass
- Assisting a housebuilder client regarding a restrictive covenant to permit development.
