BOSTON—Womble Bond Dickinson Energy and Natural Resources Team Leaders Joe Tirone, Chris Towner and Belton Zeigler and Client Service Director Christé Spiers took part in the fourth annual US Offshore Wind conference, which took place June 10-11 in Boston.
With more than 1,300 attendees, the US Offshore Wind Confex is North America’s largest event for the offshore wind industry. This year’s keynote speakers included Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management Acting Director Walter Cruickshank, Massachusetts Sen. Marc Pacheco and Massachusetts Rep. Patricia Haddad.
Joe Tirone is the co-leader of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Energy and Natural Resources Sector. His practice focuses on energy project and infrastructure development, mergers and acquisitions and project finance. He has represented energy sector companies in structuring, negotiating and drafting a range of complex contracts and agreements. Tirone advises various stakeholders in a broad range of issues in the renewable generation sector, including developers, equity participants, equipment providers, and financing parties. His experience includes working as in-house counsel for an independent power producer in connection with the development, construction and finance of power generation facilities. Tirone is on the Board of the Business Network for Offshore Wind.
Chris Towner chairs the RenewableUK offshore wind delivery group. He focuses his practice on advising renewable energy projects. Towner has also worked with a broad group of investment banks and public sector clients in relation to a wide range of issues connected with the UK electricity and gas markets.
Belton Zeigler is the co-leader of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Energy and Natural Resources Sector. Zeigler provides clients with solutions to complex energy, utility, environmental and cybersecurity matters based on more than 30 years of energy industry experience. He has served as general counsel to a major electric and natural gas utility, where he also had managerial responsibility for industrial customer relations, power marketing and strategic planning.
