Hee Jae represents borrowers and lenders in complex debt financing transactions. His experience spans cross-border project finance, corporate finance, real estate finance and asset finance. Hee Jae is predominantly focused on advising lenders on international financing transactions, particularly within emerging markets and developing nations. He regularly represents a US governmental agency on a diverse range of single and multi-sourced financings of impact investment projects in a variety of sectors including manufacturing, housing, financial services, energy, microfinance and transportation, and has worked on transactions across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
Hee Jae also has experience advising private equity portfolio and emerging companies on various debt facilities.
Earlier in his career, Hee Jae handled prominent transactions at leading international law firms in New York and prior to that had a short stint practicing immigration law at a boutique immigration law firm.

- Represented a US government agency in various financings, guaranty facilities and workouts for developmental projects in emerging markets. Examples of projects include medical facilities in Brazil, refugee assistance in Jordan and Lebanon, electric vehicles, solar energy and access to tertiary education in Kenya and Rwanda, mortgage financing in Mexico, Covid-19 vaccine manufacturing in India, microfinance in Ecuador, and sustainable organic sugarcane farming in Mozambique
- Represented a commercial bank, as administrative agent, in connection with a $500 million syndicated senior unsecured revolving credit and term loan facility for a publicly traded real estate investment trust in the hospitality sector. The facility included an accordion feature, enabling the facility to be increased to $850 million in the aggregate
- Represented commercial and investment banks as buyers and various investment funds as sellers in multiple repurchase facilities ranging from $50 million to $500 million for performing commercial real estate loans
- Represented a commercial bank in establishing a $300 million repurchase facility for tax liens
- Represented a government sponsored enterprise in connection with the origination of a $2.4 billion credit facility secured by 67 multifamily properties
