When it comes to cybersecurity threats, small broadband providers aren’t in Kansas anymore. So WBD attorneys Carri Bennet, Marjorie Spivak, and Stephen Sharbaugh are helping providers follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Land of Oz whilst learning how to avoid cyber threats and counter nefarious obstacles that could lead to damage to their networks.
Their preconference workshop, titled “Lions, Tigers and Bears! Oh, My!! Cybersecurity in the Land of Oz,” is part of the 2023 CyberShare Summit. The presenters discussed such topics as how to develop a robust cyber incident response plan, create a cyber breach prevention toolkit and select an airtight cyber insurance policy. The workshop also featured the use of a cybersecurity incident calculator to help attendees determine the cost of a cybersecurity breach so that they can build a cybersecurity risk management plan to mitigate the damage and fall out to their companies.
Joining Bennet, Spivak and Sharbaugh in the panel discussion were CyberESI CEO Joseph Drissel, CyberESI COO Matt Barrett, and Telcom Insurance Group CEO Peter Elliott. Womble Bond Dickinson sponsored the preconference workshop that was attended by small rural broadband providers who are members of NTCA, RWA, WISPA, NRECA and ACA.
The CyberShare Summit is taking place Oct. 29-31 in Pittsburgh.
