WBD has advised Byland UK Limited on its purchase of certain business interests and assets of fashion retailer L.K.Bennett Ltd, in both the UK and Ireland, from its administrators.
Byland UK has been incorporated specifically for the acquisition of the UK business of L.K.Bennett. The company is owned by the Chinese franchise partner to the existing L.K. Bennett business. The retailer's head office, website, concessions and a substantial number of stores will remain open following the sale.
A multidisciplinary WBD team advised on the acquisition with the firm drawing on its substantial experience of advising on transactions in the retail and consumer sector. The team was led by restructuring & insolvency partner Andy Stirk, managing associate Sam Dixon and solicitor Laura Beardsmore. The team worked closely with global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal who were also advisors to Byland UK.
Andy Stirk of WBD commented:
"We're delighted to have worked with John Noon and the rest of Alvarez & Marsal Manchester team to advise Byland UK on its acquisition of L.K.Bennett Ltd. Our expertise and strong track record advising on major restructurings meant we were able to provide the best possible outcome for the client."
