ATLANTA (March 2, 2023) – Womble Bond Dickinson announced today that Douglas W. Butler has joined the firm as a partner in the Corporate & Securities group. He will be based in the Atlanta office.
Butler focuses his practice on serving as outside counsel to captive insurance managers and owners, advising on pertinent insurance regulatory matters, including captive insurance company formation, coverage matters, and claims assistance. He also provides regulatory counsel to traditional insurance companies and agencies and serves as outside counsel for general corporate and transactional matters.

Butler joins Womble from Moore Ingram Johnson & Steele, where he was a partner and led that firm’s Captive Management and Insurance Regulatory group. He is the third partner to join the Corporate & Securities group this year, following regulatory and energy partner Paul G. Afonso and M&A partner Marcantonio Barnes.
