Undergraduate & Master's Students
Undergraduate and Master’s students and recent graduates of such programs can participate in Womble Bond Dickinson’s summer internship program. This program is connected to the firm’s HBCU Succeed program as it supports the creation of opportunities for diverse students interested in careers at a law firm. Through the internship program, students can apply to Staff Intern positions. Staff Interns are assigned to one of the firm’s corporate departments such as Human Resources, Accounting and IT.
The Womble Bond Dickinson internship program is open to all majors as the program is focused on career awareness, professional development and networking. Interns in the program will participate in dedicated professional development sessions and be assigned a mentor to support their learning experience and understanding of the options and resources available at a law firm. Further, interns will gain hands-on work experience and participate in check-ins and feedback sessions both with their internship supervisor as well as the Internship Program Manager.
Junior-level undergraduate and Master’s-level students who are pursuing science and technical degrees are also encouraged to apply to the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) co-op program. This program allows students to work with and learn from various IP professionals including Patent Agents, Patent Attorneys and Technical Advisors. After working at Womble Bond Dickinson for one semester, the student will return to school and then they will return to the firm for another semester on either a full-time or part-time basis. During the second, and potentially third, semester of the co-op program, the student will continue to expand their awareness of careers in IP and gain hands-on experience that leverages their science or technical backgrounds. Co-ops are also supported by the firm in their pursuit of passing the Patent Bar to expand the options available to them upon graduation.
Interested candidates can apply directly to both the internship and co-op programs here. Questions about the programs should be directed to the Internship Program Manager.
Please note that information about the firm’s Summer Associate program for law students can be found here.
