Womble Bond Dickinson Partners Jack Hicks and Taylor Ey will present a session at the 2024 American Home Furnishings Alliance Marketing/PR Conference on February 6 at The Conference Center at GTCC.
During the session, Hicks and Ey will provide valuable insights to marketing professionals on effectively utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in their strategies. Additionally, they will discuss into the importance of substantiating product content and performance claims, while also discussing the legal implications involved. Finally, the session will explore trademarked blue-and-white checks, covering topics such as "fair use," comparative advertising, and infringement.
Jack Hicks is a leader of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Manufacturing Industry Sector Team. He brings more than 30 years of experience managing complex IP matters, from Federal and State litigation to international patent and trademark filing strategies. He represents a diverse group of manufacturing and services providers, with a focus on the furniture, outdoor recreation, apparel, food and beverage, nanotechnology and aerospace industry sectors. Hicks is also actively involved in Womble Bond Dickinson’s Innovation initiatives and has served as an Adjunct Professor at Elon University School of Law.
Taylor Ey focuses her practice on advising clients on privacy and data security matters that overlap with consumer protection laws in digital advertising and marketing, and as a transactional attorney where companies are seeking to in-license or out-license intellectual property rights in software, data, technology (including patented or copyrighted technology), or related to a strategic branding opportunity and trademark rights. She brings in the technical teams to the conversation and uses her engineering background to help translate across business, technical and legal teams to identify solutions. She is recognized by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a certified information privacy professional for the U.S. and Europe.
