Masami Tyson Speaks During 45th Annual Meeting of Japan-U.S. Southeast & Southeast U.S./Japan Associations

Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Masami Tyson was a panelist at the 45th Annual Meeting of the Japan-U.S. Southeast & Southeast U.S./Japan Associations (SEUS) on October 13 in Tokyo, Japan. 

The panel, titled “The US-Japan Economic Partnership Roadmap Emerges: Resiliency During a Time of Global Volatility,” was moderated by Mr. Norihiko Ishiguro, Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).  

The SEUS Annual Meeting provided significant opportunities to promote and expand Japan investment, trade, tourism, educational, and friendship ties in cooperation with the seven SEUS member states (AL, FL, GA, MS, NC, SC, and TN) and the Japan-U.S. Southeast Association, with an estimate of 350 business, economic development, and government leaders from the seven Southeastern states and Japan in attendance. Additional attendees included Rahm Emmanuel, U.S. Ambassador to Japan who provided the keynote address; three Japanese consuls general from the region, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, and other top government, economic development, and business leaders.

Tyson, a Partner in the Nashville office, is the leader of the firm’s Japan practice. Using her deep understanding of both U.S. and Japanese business cultures, she provides Japanese and global businesses with a wide range of corporate and economic development legal support, including helping clients with understanding the process of setting up operations in the U.S., negotiating complex contracts, and providing advice on a broad range of corporate matters, all in either Japanese or English depending on the clients’ needs.
