Law firm Womble Bond Dickinson has advised longstanding client RES, a leading renewable energy company, on the sale of its Roaring Hill Energy Storage Project to TagEnergy, a clean energy company accelerating the transition to renewables by investing in competitive generation and storage assets.
Battery energy storage is a key technology providing flexibility to the network and supporting the decarbonisation of the UK’s electricity system by 2035. Roaring Hill, based in Fife, Scotland, is a highly efficient battery energy storage system that consists of 18 battery enclosures that will provide grid stabilisation and ancillary grid services, supporting the network by balancing supply and demand.
The WBD team advising RES was led by partner Sebastian Briggs and managing associates Luke Andruszewski and Ronan Lowney who provided key corporate and tax expertise.
